Our Elite Crop group gathered for our annual member meeting in Sheldon on January 15th. Our annual meeting gives our members the opportunity to reflect back on the past season and learn from that data collected – turning it into knowledge that can be used to help make decisions for seasons to come. Some of the topics covered this year with the group data were looking at ways to improve nitrogen efficiency by utilizing variable rate technologies and spatial historical data along with reviewing product trials and how to best to utilize FCS and Trace Genomics’ hi-definition genomic sequencing to place products on their acres.

Dennis Todey from the USDA Midwest Climate Hub joined and shared some insights about climate impacts on the 2024 season and some future climate trends to keep an eye on. Bruce Van Beek from R&M Spraying joined to talk about their aerial application business, their experience with how adding UAV sprayers to their fleet 2024 went and also the detail it takes to assure a quality aerial application job is done. Jeff Koops with FCS finished up the day talking about new offerings from Truterra and how members could enroll in those programs.
